Visiting The Broadmoor Even if you’re not staying overnight, guests are welcome to visit The Broadmoor to stroll the grounds, enjoy the views, and grab a drink or bite to eat. Theres a great cafe inside with food, drinks, and specialty chocolates and pastries. Please note that parking is valet-only, so plan a little extra time if you’re stopping by just to walk around.

If you’re looking for a fun and unique Colorado experience during your stay, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a wonderful outing for all ages. Set on the side of Cheyenne Mountain, the scenic zoo offers incredible city views along with unforgettable wildlife encounters. Guests can hand-feed the famous giraffe herd, see lions, penguins, hippos, and grizzly bears, and explore beautifully designed habitats throughout the mountainside setting. It’s interactive, walkable, and perfect for families, couples, or anyone who loves animals. Advance, timed tickets are typically required, so we recommend planning ahead. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

The Air Force Academy Visitor Center is a great spot to learn about cadet life, see exhibits, and start exploring the iconic Colorado Springs campus. It’s open most days and makes a fun, inspiring stop on your trip. Because the Academy is an active military base, visitors without a Department of Defense ID need to request a visitor pass in advance. The base uses a simple background-check process — once you submit a pass request online, the Pass &amp; Registration Office will review it and text you a decision, usually within about 72 hours. If approved, you’ll show your REAL ID at the gate on your visit day to enter the base.
